FLOWERSBYDEB
Recognising skill, training and professionalism within the floral industry, and celebrating Deb’s journey through floristry education.
The Institute of Professional Florists (IPF) was created by the British Florist Association (BFA) through its national Training and Education group, a team led by respected industry educators who work closely with tutors and employers across the UK. Their shared aim is to ensure floristry qualifications truly prepare students for professional, real-world florist work.
The IPF supports florists at every stage of their journey. Membership levels reflect the florist’s formal qualifications or, where applicable, a submitted portfolio of work. This allows skilled florists to gain professional recognition even if their training route has been unique.
Once accepted as members, florists are encouraged to continue their professional development throughout their career. Workshops, industry events, design demonstrations, modern techniques, trends, sustainable mechanics and new skills all form part of this continuing education.
The aim of the IPF is simple but vital – to raise professional standards, build a community for individual florists, give employers clarity when hiring, and champion the talent found across the floristry industry.
Deb’s path into floristry began through personal loss, creativity and an unwavering determination to honour her loved ones through meaningful floral design. What started as creating tributes for her brother and father grew into a lifelong passion, supported by formal education and hours of dedicated practice.
Deb has completed City & Guilds Level 2 Floristry (Merit), the Level 2 Technical Certificate (Distinction*) and the Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma (Distinction). She has continued her studies with modules at Kays Flower School and ongoing professional development through industry leaders such as Flowerjoos and Jenny T Floristry.
Her commitment to training, technique and craftsmanship led to her acceptance into the Institute of Professional Florists. Membership recognises her skills, high standards and dedication to excellence in both traditional and modern floristry.
As an IPF member, Deb continues to develop her knowledge, stay up to date with industry trends and uphold the values of professionalism that the IPF stands for. Her work reflects care, precision, creativity and the heartfelt meaning behind every tribute she creates.
Proudly, Deb shares the IPF commitment to raising standards, supporting education and celebrating skilled florists across the UK.
